Class Descriptions
Lyrical
Lyrical is a modern dance form that fuses ballet and jazz dance techniques. Characteristics of lyrical dance style are flowing dance moves that connect through out the dance, conveying the emotions of the lyrics of the music.
Hip Hop
A popular form of street funk jazz, choreography and music are age appropriate and set to popular music.
Ballet
A structured class using a mixture of ballet styles performed to classical music. Progressive exercises help to build strength and flexibility. Ballet is the foundation for all dance techniques.
Tap
A technique of dance primarily using the feet to produce percussive sounds. Focus is on rhythmic patterns, speed, syncopation, and technical agility.
Ballet-Tap
A class focusing on both ballet and tap technique and terminology for young dancers.
Creative Movement
A fun introduction to dance. Students are exposed to basic ballet movements incorporating rhythm, coordination skills, and song and dance.
Jazz
A popular style of dance using upbeat music. Classes incorporate a mixture of warm-ups, body isolations, floor work, across the floor work, and combinations.
Contemporary
A version of lyrical, that blends with modern dance styles.
